A PLANNING committee will decide on improved plans for homes in tomorrow’s meeting.

Improved plans for 67 new homes, in New Road, Mistley have been recommended for approval by Tendring Council officers.

Planning permission for the site was originally granted in February 2018, but housebuilder CALA Homes has drawn up revised plans.

The proposals include the improved design of the new homes, roads and open space to ensure they comply with the appropriate technical requirements.

These proposals are set to be decided upon by Tendring Council’s Planning Committee tomorrow night.

Philip Wright, head of planning at CALA Homes, said: “We are delighted the improved proposals for Mistley have been recommended for approval and are looking forward to the planning committee meeting on Tuesday.”

“These updated plans will mean the local community will get the best possible development, which residents will be proud to call home.

“These are the best plans for Mistley, and we hope that they will be approved to provide much needed housing”.

CALA’s plans include a mix of two to four-bedroom homes to meet local housing needs, including 20 new affordable housing.

A large green buffer at the edge of the site, with a playing area, wildflower grassland and natural hedgerows are also included.

The new layout has been designed to maintain and enhance the character of Mistley.

A range of house types and sizes are proposed to meet needs, including homes for those looking to get on the property ladder, families requiring a larger property as well as those who wish to downsize but remain in the area.

CALA Homes will also make financial contributions towards infrastructure of more than £500,000, including support for early years, primary and secondary school provision.
