OWNERS of an ice cream van have sponsored an under sevens football team.

Little Oakley Youth Football Club Under Sevens footballers sported their new kits with "pride".

The team is run and managed by Community Policing Team Inspector for Tendring Darren Deex.

He said: "James and Charlene Riz, who run Jay's Ice Cream, have kindly paid for the club's new kits.

"They have sponsored the entire kit for all seven boys and training tops.

"We had our first friendly match on Tuesday, and the boys celebrated with free ice creams from the ice cream truck.

"They are wearing the new kits with pride and think it is funny to have an ice cream on their tops."

Mr Deex added: "We want to thank James and Charlene for sponsoring the team."
