HARRY Potter fans descended on a skating rink to make potions and meet a range of reptiles.

Dovercourt Skating Rink, in Lower Marine Parade, held an enchanting event, complete a magician, potions classes and encounters with weird and wonderful reptiles on Saturday.

Guests also had the chance to meet with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows actor Mick Fryer-Kelsey.

He played a wizard extra in part one the film.

Chris Scutt, who runs Dovercourt Skating Rink, said: “The event went really well, despite the weather being so bad we had to move everything indoors.

“Mick Fryer-Kelsey was very popular and took time to talk to people about his career.

“Our magician was also well received and we will be running a evening of mystery very soon.

“Essex Reptile Encounters who arrived with the beasts brought a wide range from a giant frog to a chameleon to the rink.”

Chris said the event gained a lot of interest ahead of his reptile encounters event on August 29.

For that event, there will be slime and messy play workshops and the chance to hold creepy crawlies.
