POLICE are searching for a motorist they believe may have witnessed an assault.
Detectives want to speak to the driver of a white car who they believed would have been forced to stop after two pedestrians went into Mersea Road, Colchester, shortly before 10pm on Saturday.
A disturbance had begun in nearby Queen Elizabeth Way before spilling out onto Mersea Road.
Sheree Thompson, of Queen Elizabeth Way, has been remanded in custody after being charged with two counts of causing actual bodily harm.
The 39-year-old will next appear at Ipswich Crown Court in September.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed anything, is asked to come forward and speak to the Colchester Domestic Abuse Investigation Team on 101 quoting the reference 42/128728/19.
