DANCERS helped beat a world record and raise money for charity.

Youngsters from Harmonie Rose Dance Academy in Harwich took part in the Tesco Dance Beats event at Wembley Stadium.

They danced with members of the Dance Beats Super Group in a relay dance challenge that saw them achieve a new world record of constant dancing for 30 hours.

Principal Kirstie Husk, said: ‘It was an amazing experience and we were so proud to be part of it.

"The academy took part in the scheme to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research Uk and Diabetes UK.

"We have set up a PayPal pool for anyone who wanted to donate to help raise money for the three amazing charities and our own fundraising efforts."

Harmonie Rose Dance Academy also took part in an hour of dancing at Tesco in the Hythe, Colchester to help celebrate Tesco Dance Beats and help the store to raise more money for charity.

Miss Kirstie and Chloe Higgs also taught Tesco staff the Tesco Dance Beats routine.

The academy is holding its first open day on Sunday, August 11 from 11am to 3pm at Harwich Community Primary School.

There will be live music, bouncy castles, polefit and aerial hoop, cakes, sand art, slime making as well as performances from the dancers and taster sessions.
