HUNDREDS of revellers gathered in the streets and fields for an annual village show.

The Tillingham Flower Show hosted a variety of events at the weekend including a parade, scarecrow competition and plenty of live displays of song, dance and fire.

A show spokesman said: “Despite the weather forecast leading up to the show, we were very lucky with the weather.

“The rain managed to hold off until just after 4pm on show day.

“The committee would like to extend a big thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who help set up the show and marquees, and manned stalls on the day, helping to keep the show going.”

The flower show day kicked off with a parade through the village featuring floats, fancy dress, vintage cars, tractors and Tillingham Fire Brigade.

Over on the West Field, visitors enjoyed a dog show, horticultural exhibits and the Tillingham stocks, where special guests, including the Rev Stephen Poss and Tillingham firefighters, took turns getting a soaking to raise funds for the show.

This year’s tug of war winners were a group of residents who heaved the title away from the firefighters.
