EVER got that sinking feeling?
One worker certainly did when his digger got stuck in the mud in Seawick.
Kevin Jay, a member of the Gazette’s Facebook Camera Club, spotted the partly submerged piece of plant equipment on Thursday.
The digger was being used by contractors for the Environment Agency to carry out “ground investigation” works.
The works are ahead of a scheme to reinforce the sea defences in Seawick in autumn 2020.
A spokesman said: “With the advancing tide the excavator had to be abandoned by its operator on Thursday evening.
“The excavator was recovered on Friday evening’s low tide.
“Repair work on the section of the beach disrupted by the incident is expected to be finished by the weekend.”
