DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after an attempted stabbing in Clacton town centre.

Officers were called to Station Road following reports that man in his twenties tried to stab a man with a knife.

The incident happened shortly after 4.15pm on Thursday, June 18.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are appealing for witness following an incident outside Natwest on Station Road.

"A man described to us as in his twenties, white, 5ft 9ins, with fair hair and wearing a black top, attempted to stab a man in his late thirties with a knife. 

"He was seen carrying a crutch but did not appear to be using it.

"We believe a number of people were in the area at the time and may have seen the incident we asking anyone with information to please call us."
