The Chelmsford Star Co-Op, in Cressing Road
AN armed robber threatened staff and forced them to hand over hundreds of pounds at a shop in Braintree.
The incident happened at around 11.20am today, July 2, when a man walked into the Chelmsford Star Co-Op, in Cressing Road, and threatened staff with a knife.
He demanded cash before running away from the scene with a three-figure-sum of cash.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man from Braintree on suspicion of robbery at around 12.30pm and he remains in custody.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to call Braintree CID on 101 quoting incident 421 of 02/07 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
