THE Burnham Art Trail returns to the Dengie this weekend.

The 15th event starts this Saturday and runs until the end of the month.

It also sees the return of Art on the Quay on June 23 and June 29 from 11am to 5pm.

Organiser Glynnis Dye said: “Burnham Art Trail has built an impressive reputation, not only for the quality of work on show but also for our innovative activities and friendly welcome, becoming a must-do event on the Essex arts calendar.

“Last year, 49 artists took over our beautiful riverside town to create an art trail rich in variety and with a host of fun and creative activities and workshops.

“There really was something to suit everyone, from atmospheric land and seascapes to contemporary printmaking, installations, ceramics, textiles, jewellery and sculpture.

“Plans are under way to make the 2019 trail – our 15th anniversary year – the best one yet.”

There will be three gazebos on the quayside near the White Harte Hotel where artists will be painting, drawing and crafting to demonstrate their skills.

A spokesman said: “You could try your hand at ceramics, get expert advice from artists and tips on achieving the best from your camera or mobile from a professional photographer. You can also get original pieces of art to buy or commission from some of the talented local artists who are taking part in this year’s art trail.”

This Sunday, the line-up features Jenny Hill, Cow Pat Pots, Susan Clare, Amy Keeper, Charles Bran, Sue Spiers, Marion Sidebottom, Leonida de la Cruz, John Green, Babs Palmer, Liz Potter, Kirk Rutter, Jenny Newman and Jeremy Hogben.

On June 29, the line-up includes Nicola Hughes, Amy Keeper, Kirk Rutter, Jenny Newman and Jeremy Hogben.

There will also be live music on Saturday from acts including the Silver Darlings, Stuck in the Middle and Jon ‘Greavesy’ Greaves.
