FAMILIES can enjoy the great outdoors with a series of classes in the summer.

Danbury Country Park will be hosting a number of activities for pre-schoolers and their parents or carers in June and July.

Activities are centred around nature, sensory stimulation, forest crafts, imagination, physical play and construction.

There will fun tasks such as playing in a mud kitchen, den building and bug-hunting.

A spokesman said: “By participating in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment, children have an opportunity to develop their physical, emotional and social skills.

The summer term is five weeks long and will cost £40.

Classes start on Monday, June 17 and are on every Monday from 10am to noon or 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

There are also discounts for siblings.

Another class which caters to whole families is also available.

The Family Forest School includes den building, woodland crafts, tool skills, climbing, fire lighting and cooking.

A spokesman added: “Don’t let the children have all the fun, forest school and connecting to nature is for everyone.

“Leave the electronics at home and build relationships and skills and make memories with your loved ones.”

The last two sessions of the year are this Saturday and July 15.

Tickets are £8 per child, and free for those under 18 months. Accompanying adults also go free.
