THE cast of Harry Potter and pop legends the Spice Girls were among the personas adopted by students celebrating their last day in school.

In keeping with tradition, Year 13 students at Colchester County High School for Girls dressed up as iconic characters in a playful way to mark their final day.

Costumes included Harry Potter characters, Scooby Doo, Super Mario, the Spice Girls, the Tweenies and even five different emergency vehicles.

Every year the students don fancy dress for their final day of lessons before beginning their study leave for their A-level exams.

The fancy dress party is a day for the girls to take a break from exam preparation and reflect on their time with friends.

The students said it had been a brilliant day but they also felt sad to leave behind their close groups.

Headteacher Gillian Marshall said: “We thank this outstanding year group for the enormous contribution they have made to the school throughout their time with us.

“We wish them every success in their examinations and in the future.”
