EAST Bergholt Dramatic Society’s latest production had audiences chuckling from start to finish.
Staged over three nights, The Technical Rehearsal gave an insight into all the things that can go wrong and apparently do, as an amateur group rehearses for its forthcoming production of Cinderella.
Clare Dawson gave an outstanding performance as the frustrated producer battling against many problems, including a wrongly built set, missing actors, mobile phones ringing and the leading lady going to hospital.
On stage most of the time, she was ably backed by a cast of more than 20. Ali Catchpole deserves a mention for daring to appear in outrageous female underwear and the group’s chairman, Val Eldridge, who was also not only director and producer, but in the cast.
