A car was abandoned after the driver crashed it in a quiet road.
Late in the evening officers attended the crash in Burnham Road, Southminster where they discovered he Ford Focus seriously damaged on its front side.
One side of the road was closed.
Officers from Maldon A Shift urged residents in the area to "be careful" following the incident.
Officers in the Chelmsford and Maldon Local Policing Team were very busy throughout that evening.
The force took to Twitter to speak about the work it has been doing to keep residents in the community safe.
During this one night shift Maldon A Shift have:

- Located and returned 2 missing people,
- Protected a vulnerable victim of domestic abuse,
- Attended a disturbance on the high street,
- Attended a dispute between a taxi driver and customer &
- Patrolled the Maldon Area.
The team also safeguarded a "vulnerable victim of domestic abuse" during the same evening.
