Firefighters came to the rescue after an elderly woman was injured in a collision in the Dengie.
Crews from Tillingham and Burnham were called to assist at the scene at around 11am in Bradwell Road, St Lawrence last week.
First aid was given to one elderly casualty in the vehicle before paramedics arrived an hour later to take care of them.
No action was taken by the police as there were no serious injuries.
An ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 11.27am on Friday with reports of a collision in Bradwell Road, St Lawrence.
“We sent one ambulance and the Hazardous Area Response Team.
“A woman was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.”
Tillingham and Burnham Fire Station are crewed by on-call firefighters.
Both fire stations are currently recruiting for new on-call firefighters.
