A MOTHER and the close friends of a “wonderful” boy are carrying out a dare-devil charity parachute jump in his memory.

Konna Wright, an Ormiston Rivers Academy student, died on September 18 last year.

Mum Suzanne and his friends are set to pay tribute to Konna, 15, when they take on a charity skydive in support of children’s charity Kidscape.

A JustGiving page set up ahead of the event has raised more than £100 for the cause, but the group aim to raise a total of £2,000.

Laura Hartnoll, who set up the page, said: “Konna was a wonderful young man.

“Unfortunately, Konna was severely bullied and sadly in September 2018 the bullying became too much and he took his own life.

“Konna was just 15 years old with a bright future ahead of him.

“No child should ever feel like this, that is why we are raising money for Kidscape as they support children and their families who are experiencing bullying.”

Konna, who was from Southminster, was found unresponsive in the King George V playing field.

Crews of paramedics rushed to the scene and attempted to revive him but sadly he was declared dead in the park.

Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances following his death.

A post mortem examination was carried out which identified a provisional cause of death as compression of the neck from hanging.

The full inquest into the tragedy will take place in February.

The skydive will take place at the beginning of May, and the group are already looking forward to it.

Laura said: “On May 11, Suzanne, and Konna’s friends Lewis, Hannah, Skye and Kylie will be throwing themselves out of an aeroplane to help other children who are bullied get the help that they need.

“Konna always wanted to do a skydive and we want to help him fulfil his dream, so please help us by giving whatever you can.”
