POLICE have reissued an appeal for witnesses after a man suffered a head injury in Clacton.

The man was walking along Station Road, near to Clacton Town Hall, when he fell at about 2pm on Thursday, December 27.

Officers launched an investigation to establish whether the man fell or was hit by a reversing vehicle.

The man has now left hospital and has a vague recollection of the incident.

Investigating officer PC Mark Hercules, of the Stanway Roads Policing Unit, said the man suffered a fractured skull during the incident.

“The man has since been discharged from hospital but has a vague recollection about the incident," he said.

“While we remain open minded at this stage, we haven’t ruled out that he may sustained these injuries accidentally after a fall.

“Our investigation continues and we would urge anyone with information to get in contact with us.”

The incident was reported to us the morning after the man sustained his injuries.

Police also want to speak to a woman who was driving a black vehicle.

It is understood the man that she spoke to him before he was injured.
