Buyers can now reserve homes in a large new Burnham-on-Crouch development.

The new Corinthian Place development near to Maldon Road has been fully revealed by developers, David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties.

Prospective residents are now able to reserve homes at the development's on site cabin, before the show homes are opened up at the beginning of next year.

The development is one of six new sites across Essex that David Wilson Homes is bringing forward.

The Standard reported in March the developer, based in Chelmsford took over the building of 103 new homes at Riverside Grange in North Fambridge, 94 homes at St Leonard’s Edge in Southminster and 174 homes at Corinthian Place in Burnham.

The proposal for Corinthian Place, first brought forward by Pigeon Land was approved in August 2016.

Annette Hurst, sales director at David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We’re thrilled to have launched our sought-after properties at Corinthian Place and we’re looking forward to seeing this new development progress over the coming months.

“The homes available offer something for everyone, whether it’s for first-time buyers, second steppers or property seekers looking to accommodate a growing family.

“We encourage anyone interested in becoming part of this thriving community to visit our sales advisers at the cabin on Maldon Road.”

Work begun on the 174 new homes in the summer and across Essex a total of 991 homes will be built.

A large number of the homes will also be made affordable.

The site in Southminster will have 28 affordable homes in the 94 home site, with a new northern bypass, which will see Steeple Road converted to a cul-de-sac.

Land will also be reserved to create a medical in the future, as long as initial planning is upheld.

Maldon District Council had to pay for a developer's legal costs after an inspector said it had behaved "unreasonably" when the development was taken to appeal.

The council lodged and withdrawn three of its grounds for objection before the plans were heard by the council.

The inspector ruled there would be a "limited" harm to the character and appearance of the area and approved the plans.
