MORE than 1,000 people gathered together to remember fallen soldiers on a special anniversary.

Walton’s Remembrance Day parade saw organisations meet in the High Street and parade down to the Walton Parish Church for an emotional service.

About 64 wreaths were also laid by schoolchildren and dignitaries.

Those involved in the parade included the coastguard, Army cadets and RAF amongst others.

The march ended at the Royal British Legion memorial gardens, before a service at Walton Parish Church led by the Rev Peter Edwards.

Walton Sea Cadets were leading the parade.

The band at the very front of the parade was the Walton Sea Cadets Band led by bandmaster, Geoff Battersby and it was in partnership with the Royal British Legion.

Junior Cadets commemorated the unmarked graves as part of the service.

It was also the first time the new Army cadets contingent who now operate in Walton were in attendance.
