A TALENTED teenager has been recognised by one of her music idols for singing a cover of Lost Without You.

Singer-songwriter Freya Ridings’ ballad Lost Without You is currently in the Top 10 of the UK’s Official Singles Chart.

A rendition of the song was performed by Fallon Walsham, from Dovercourt, as part of Harwich Sing’s solo night last Friday.

Fallon, 15, uploaded a video of her singing the song on Instagram and Freya Ridings herself commented saying her cover was “stunning”.

The Manningtree High School student said: “I was so shocked Freya messaged me.”

Fallon said she became a fan of Freya after hearing Lost Without You on the radio several times.

“I listen to Freya a lot and really like her voice and songs,” she said.

Fallon has been part of Harwich Sing for about five years and performs with the group on Wednesday nights.

Fallon said: “If you want to get into singing, I think you should start in a group and gradually try more things on your own and take on new opportunities.

“I do get stage fright and shake on stage, but after I have sung I just want to do it all again.

“Clare Leach is the choir leader at Harwich Sing and she’s been a diamond.”
