WOMEN are invited to take part in an indoor triathlon for charity next month.

The third Women’s Indoor Charity Triathlon is taking place at Blackwater Leisure Centre in Park Drive on Sunday, November 4

The event will raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

The race involves a 1.6km run, 4km cycle and a 200m swim.

A spokesman said: “This is an indoor triathlon, so you will complete you distances on the treadmill, group cycling bikes and in the pool.

“This is for any ladies who feel up for a challenge and want to raise some money for a fantastic cause.

“The challenge is meant to be accessible and the distances reflect that.

“We want as many people to take part as possible.”

This year, there will be prizes for the first three places.

First place wins a month's free membership at the leisure centre, second place wins one hour of free personal training and third place wins a free swim and group exercise class.

There will be certificates to all racers who take part.

Racers must pay a £5 donation to guarantee a space which will be donated once the race has taken place.

Racers will be started in groups of eight and additional collection buckets will be totalled up and presented to Breast Cancer Care after the event.

The centre will call before the event to run through information about start time and match fitness abilities.
