AN OUTDOOR cinema event in Maldon has raised more than £2,000 for charity.
Mrs Salisbury's Famous Tea Rooms in Brights Path on the high street held an outdoor screening of The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman, on Bank Holiday Monday in August.
The event was a sell-out, with people filling the outside space of Brights Path to enjoy the film in the setting Bank Holiday sun.
It was put on to raise money for Cancer Research UK, with ticket sales and donations on the day contributing to the final total.
Now, after all donations were counted, the event raised a total of £2,137 for the charity.
Mrs Salisbury's Famous Tea Rooms wrote on Facebook: "A massive thank you to everyone who came to our outdoor cinema event" With the ticket sales and your generous donations, we raised a whopping total of £2137.00 for Cancer Research UK!"
