RESIDENTS living in a road found to have “high concentrations”
of Nitrogen Dioxide will be updated on plans to improve the air quality.
Monitoring of air quality in Market Hill revealed too much of the chemical compound was present in the air.
Maldon District Council is required to declare Market Hill and Fullbridge an “air quality management area” and is working on a plan to improve the air quality.
Residents will be sent a letter updating them on the situation this week.
It will take 12 months to prepare the plan.
A council spokesman said: “During this process a consultation will take place to help identify the proposed mitigation measures and viable propositions for implementation to improve air quality so that it complies with the air quality objective.”
The council is legally required to make the details of a plan public.
