MORE than 40 residents have attended the re-launch of a popular lunch club in a bid get older people socialising and meeting new people.
Those who attended the club on Monday hosted by the Community Voluntary Services Tendring met in Carnarvon Road to mark the special occasion.
Age Concern originally ran the club for those over the age of 55 but it closed for a few weeks for re-decoration.
It is now back in business with new cooks and a new menu which offers two hearty options.
Brenda Ellis, CVST chairman said: "We are delighted with the turn out and support from the local community – it’s really great to see so many people here today and of course, the weather has helped with lots of people sitting outside enjoying the sunshine."
If you would like to attend the lunch-club they run from 12pm until 3 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday,
Those wishing to book call in advance 01255 475913 - main meals cost just £3.
