Train enthusiasts descended on a popular railway museum over the weekend for a miniature event.

East Anglian Railway Museum, in Chappel Station, welcomed visitors to its All Trains Great and Small Event on Sunday.

The museum played host to a broad selection of model railway layouts and ran full sized steam trains all day, offering unlimited rides.

The selection included a gauge one live steam layout, which filled most of the museum’s Goods Shed.

A treasure hunt was on offer for the younger visitors and families treated themselves to picnics in the garden space outside.

The museum’s miniature pub, fondly believed to be the smallest in Essex, served bottled beers and ciders for the grown ups.

The museum will soon be hosting its Spooky Thomas day for Halloween, with four character trains and unlimited rides.
