McVitie's has announced that it will be releasing two new limited-edition cake bars to its selection, which have "irresistible flavours".

Eton Mess and Lemon Meringue are the two new flavours which are meant to reimagine "quintessential British desserts".

In a statement, McVitie's said: "Experience quintessential British desserts reimagined with McVitie's new Limited Edition Cake Bars, available in two irresistible flavours - Eton Mess and Lemon Meringue.

"Evoking a sense of summertime nostalgia, indulge in the Eton Mess Cake Bar, a strawberry-flavoured cake bar filled with light and fluffy cream, crunchy meringue pieces and a decadent milk chocolate coating.

"Alternatively, enjoy a refreshing burst of citrus with the Lemon Meringue Cake Bar, featuring a zingy lemon sponge filled with zesty lemon cream, as well as crisp meringue swirls and sugar pearls, coated in rich milk chocolate. " 

Alongside this McVitie's will also be releasing all-new Iced Gems Candy Floss as an additional option in its line-up of treats.

Where can you get the new McVitie's cake bars?

Adam Woolf, Marketing Director – McVitie’s, pladis UK&I, said: “We’re very excited to introduce two new additions to the McVitie’s family that are perfect for summer snacking.

The two new cake bars will be available in Morrisons, Nisa, Co-op, Booker, Spar, Poundland, B&M, TJ Morris, Farmfoods, Heron, Unitas and Bestway from March 18.

Meanwhile, the McVitie’s Iced Gems Candy Floss will be available in Iceland from March 25 and in some other grocers in April.
