A High Street restaurant which shut its doors after an immigration raid in November looks set to re-open under new ownership.

Friends Chinese Restaurant, in Halstead High Street, was raided by UK Border Agency officials on November 23.

Shocked diners were forced to leave as all of the on-duty staff were arrested at the same time.

Since the raid took place, the restaurant has remained closed with a sign in the window saying that it was closed for refurbishment.
