Animal centre volunteers have been overwhelmed by public support.
The RSPCA Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield held its Christmas toys and treats event on December 5, which attracted about 300 visitors.
There was a Santa's Grotto, Christmas stalls and a Christmas wordsearch with the answers hidden on the dog kennels.
Visitors could also fill Christmas stockings for the homeless pooches, cats and other furry friends.
Lucy Smith, volunteer, said: “The food donations were massive.
“We had trolley loads of donations.
“Not many animals were re-homed from the day, but more people got to know where we are and what we do and hopefully they'll tell other people.
“Considering this economic climate we did well. People have been very generous.”
The event raised £327.03 for the the home.
