A by election will be held following a district councillor’s resignation.
The election will be held for a district councillor to represent The Three Colnes following Rosemary O’Shea’s resignation.
Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, no later than 12pm on November 7 and a poll will take place on December 4.
Graham Butland, leader of Braintree Council, said: “Mrs O’Shea thinks her future rests in Scotland.
“She told me horses and hounds were her life and she’s found a job up there that allows her to work with them.”
Mrs O’Shea moved from her home in Earls Colne following the sudden death of her husband John at the end of June.
