A NEW kennel block, dedicated to a young woman who worked with animals, is to be opened at an RSPCA home.
Danaher RSPCA home in Wethersfield will open the Laura Barker kennel block this Saturday in memory of the animal care manager who died in a car accident.
Miss Barker, 27, was near her workplace when she died on April 23, and her parents Nigel and Jackie Barker, of Wethersfield, will officially open the new block.
General manager Bob Ferdinando said the opening of the £325,000 kennel will be followed by an informal barbecue in the centre’s education room.
Everyone is welcome to the opening on Saturday at 11.30am and to the barbecue afterwards.
