A legendary DJ is set to headline a major outdoor concert series with a night of dance anthems and orchestral magic.
Pete Tong will bring his Ibiza Classics live show to Colchester’s Lower Castle Park on Friday, August 27, as part of the 2027 Colchester Castle Summer Series.
The show will feature a blend of electronic music and orchestral performance, with Mr Tong performing alongside The Essential Orchestra.
He will be joined on stage by special guests Gilles Peterson, Sonique, and Todd Terry.
The Ibiza Classics show first gained global attention in 2015 with a BBC Proms performance.
It has since become a worldwide phenomenon, drawing more than 750,000 fans to venues including the Hollywood Bowl, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and London’s O2 Arena.
Earlier this year, Mr Tong marked the 10th anniversary of Ibiza Classics with four sold-out shows at the Royal Albert Hall.
The Colchester Castle Summer Series has already announced two other headline acts.
Simply Red will perform on Wednesday, August 18, with support from Heather Small and Soul II Soul.

Ronan Keating and Blue will take to the stage on Saturday, August 21.
Now heading into its third year, the series brings major artists to one of Essex’s most historic venues.
Mr Tong is widely recognised for his influence as a DJ, producer, broadcaster, and A&R talent scout.
He has played a key role in promoting electronic music through his long-running BBC Radio 1 show.
In 2021, he was honoured with the Music Industry Trusts Award.
Mr Tong released his UK number one debut album Classic House in 2017 and continues to push the boundaries of electronic music.
It combines world-class performances with the backdrop of one of Essex’s most iconic landmarks.
Tickets for Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics at Colchester Castle Summer Series go on general sale at 10am on Friday, October 23.
The 2026 Colchester Castle Summer Series took place from August 20 to 29.
Headliners included Billy Ocean, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp’s Hollywood Vampires, Becky Hill, Bastille, Richard Ashcroft and JLS, with main support from Gabrielle, and Fatboy Slim.
Previous acts to have graced the stage include the Smashing Pumpkins, Busted, Tom Jones, Craig David, Texas, Madness, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, and James in 2025.
