Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash on M11

A man was airlifted to hospital after a collision on a major Essex route.

Emergency crews were called to the crash on the M11, near Chigwell, on Thursday, which involved a motorcyclist.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3.55pm on Thursday, August 6, to a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on the M11 near Chigwell.

"Two ambulances and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

"The motorcyclist, an adult man, was airlifted to The Royal London Hospital for further treatment.”

The M11 was blocked towards Stansted Airport following the collision yesterday afternoon.

Drivers were facing delays of more than 30 minutes between Junctions 4 and 6.
