More than 100 residents have come together to raise funds to improve facilities at Earls Colne Tennis Club.

Earls Colne Village Hall welcomed guests on Saturday, February 7 to a special quiz night with the well-supported community event raising an impressive £1,280.

Donations were generated through quiz entry fees, mini games and a busy bar throughout the evening.

All proceeds will go directly towards supporting the club and its ongoing development.

The quiz featured a wide variety of rounds, keeping teams entertained from start to finish.

Chairman Brad Fletcher said: “We were absolutely delighted with the turnout and atmosphere on the night.

"It was fantastic to see so many people from the community coming together to support the club.

"Raising over £1,200 in one evening will make a real difference as we move forward with some exciting plans.”

One of those plans includes court resurfacing, which is due to take place very soon and will significantly improve playing facilities for members and visitors.

The club is also hoping to expand its social tennis sessions, giving people of all ages and abilities the chance to get involved in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
