Great Yeldham ladies club enjoys 30th anniversary treat

Lady Molly Butler was the first president of the Great Yeldham and district ladies club when it launched in 1995. 

Over the last three decades, the 40 group members have met at the Reading Room on the last Thursday of every month where they share refreshments and laughs. 

Members often go on outings together and hold events and activities with guest speakers throughout the year, including a Christmas party.

Group chairman Jill Potter, 85, has lived in the village for more than 50 years and toasted to the club's members - both past and present - at the celebratory event.

"I’ve got to be honest, it keeps me going and all of our ladies love it.

"We have a bench outside in honour of one of our members that we have sadly said goodbye to.

The ladies enjoyed a glass of fizz and each received a memorable gift - marking the special milestone.
