A CARE home in Halstead has launched a monthly craft club, aiming to encourage creativity and generational relationships within the community.
Located on Dame Mary Walk off of Colchester Road, Care UK's Colne View care home has teamed up with Kinder Essex Braintree to launch Crafty Nanas.
The monthly club offers a social crafting session for home residents and locals.
Led by Kinder Essex Coach Jayne Laken, the group meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 10.30am to 12pm.
All crafting materials and supplies are provided, as well as and hot drinks and biscuits.
Future sessions will cover a range of crafts, including cross-stitch and paper crafts, painting and knitting.
Linda Saunders, 74, is a resident at Colne View care home.
She said: “I enjoy meeting new people and making conversation.
"This is a great way for me to do this as well as bringing back the hobbies I used to have.”
Kim Richardson, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Colne View, said: “Crafty Nanas is a great way for people to come together, try something new, or enjoy a favourite hobby in a friendly setting.
"Creativity is a fantastic way to relax, socialise, and share skills, and these sessions give everyone the chance to do just that.
“Whether you’ve been crafting for years or just want to have a go, everyone is welcome to join in, meet new people, and enjoy a relaxed morning with plenty of tea and conversation.”
The next meeting will take place on April 22.
