We tried Halstead’s new and different fast-food restaurant, and it delivered great food in less than 20 minutes.
HFC opened last month on the town’s High Street and has a vast menu, offering burgers, wraps, and friend chicken – as well as their specialty dishes of Peri Peri chicken, authentically made kebabs and popular milkshakes.
“There’s a lot of good options in Halstead so we’re trying to offer something different,” HFC staff member, Az, said.
After speaking with the owners, who also run - Halstead’s Indian restaurant – Cinnamon Tree, I decided to try their new menu for myself.
I ordered my food quickly and with ease using the JustEat app, choosing a chicken strip wrap meal, which comes with fries and a drink, and an Oreo milkshake.
The meal, which includes a main, side and a drink, cost £9.99, and the milkshake cost £6.99.
My food came in rapid time, taking less than 20 minutes to arrive at my door step, and was well packaged – with no spills or loose food in the bag.
The Oreo milkshake came tightly wrapped in clingfilm – to prevent spillage – and was absolutely delicious.
The food portions were great - the wrap was big enough to fill me up but not too big to finish and was made well to prevent food falling out.
The whole meal, with a £3 delivery fee, cost £20.78 - which I believe is very reasonable for the food quality, portions and extremely quick service.
All wrappers and packaging were easy to dispose of, made of recyclable materials.
The only downfall to the experience was not receiving a straw for my milkshake, but – being at home – I was able to pour it into a glass to drink.
I would highly recommend ordering from HFC – the food was tasty, the service was very quick and easy and all dishes on the menu are very reasonably priced.
