SANTA paid a visit to Halstead just in time for Christmas as part of a charity event.

The town’s Royal British Legion held its Santa at the Legion event for 2023.

The Legion is the country’s largest Armed Forces charity, with 180,000 members, 110,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities, which helps it to give support wherever and whenever it is needed.

It helps members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families.

The event was a success, with plenty of children coming down to see Father Christmas.

A spokesman said: “Saturday, December 16, saw Father Christmas land at the Legion.

“After numerous meetings, Father Christmas and the Royal British Legion branch committee agreed on a time and place for him to come and see the children of Halstead, after finding a gap in his very busy schedule.

“A full day was had with 30 children, of all different ages coming along and having a chat before receiving their present from Santa.

“A big thank you must go out to Santa and his elves, Mac, Toni and Kara, as well as the RBL branch committee for organising such a great day for the children."
