SANTA Claus is back in the Hedinghams once more to bring festive fun to families.

The Christmas icon is back bringing the holiday spirit to villagers, and collecting donations for the 1st Hedingham Scouts and St Peter's Primary School.

Maintenance man Dave Heather, from 'What a Difference a Dave Makes' travels round the villages every year and has once again begun his trip around the area.

Dave has been raising money for St Peter's and 1st Hedingham Scouts as Santa since 2018.

The tour, which began on Monday, saw the big man help with the Sible Hedingham light switch-on.

Santa and his elves were joined by a special guest, a pupil who won the St Peter's Primary School Christmas tree decoration competition.

The trio arrived on a festive, vintage open-top bus, complete with lights and snow machine.

The school choir sang hymns and held a raffle, whilst mulled wine and mince pies were handed out.

Children were able to climb to the top of the bus and enjoy the festivities from the open-top.

The bus was donated by the Newman family, while the microphone and speaker equipment were lent by fellow business owner and friend Ferg Ranson.

After the successful event, Santa has started travelling around the villages this week and has already visited a number of roads.

Following the first route on Monday, the team thanked everyone who attended.

“We would like to thank all that came out and supported our event, you gave very generously,” they said.

“All our team would like to say a big thank you for doing so.”

The remaining routes are on December 7, 8, and 9, taking place between 6pm and 8pm.

Residents are encouraged to join in the singing and waving as Santa goes past.

Cash donations are taken every evening, with a QR code also set up for those who wish to donate online.

All profits are split equally between the school and the Scouts.
