A VILLAGE vineyard is celebrating after its wine was crowned the best in the country.

The Tuffon Hall Vineyard in Sible Hedingham has tasted success again after its wines were given various awards.

The business won a gold medal from WineGB for its 2022 Beatrice, Pinot Noir rosé.

As well as this, last week Tuffon Hall won the Waitrose Trophy for the best still rosé in the whole country at the prestigious WineGB awards in Drapers Hall in London.

It also won the regional award for the East for the same wine and previously won Gold for the 2022 Bacchus from the Independent English Wine Awards earlier this year.

A spokesman said: “Easy on the eye, with a pale salmon, Provençal hue, it’s been turning heads up and down the country this summer.

“Taste-wise, you’ll enjoy honeydew, peach and green apple on the palate, which gives it a zesty, fresh and clean finish. Elegant and fun, lovers of both white and rosé will enjoy this super wine.”

Wine writer Oz Clark described the wine as “deliciously easy drinking and knocks the socks off any Provence stuff”.

Judge Susie Barrie added how it’s “just perfect to enjoy and drink with friends”.
