FAMILIES are set for some legendary entertainment as a spectacular new event comes to a historic castle.

Hedingham Castle is hosting its brand new Excalibur event over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

The Excalibur event is the brainchild of Ian Pycroft from Black Knight Historical and will take visitors on a journey back in time to the days of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

The immersive event will transport visitors into the enchanting world of legends and the search for the fabled sword, Excalibur.

With interactive displays, live tournaments, living history and exciting activities, visitors of all ages can join in the quest to become a knight of the realm and take part in Arthurian adventures.

Hedingham Castle owner Demetra Lindsay said: “We are thrilled to unveil Excalibur as our newest family event at Hedingham Castle.

"With its rich history and legendary tales, Hedingham Castle provides the perfect setting for an immersive experience that will captivate the imaginations of children and adults alike.

“We can't wait to share this magical adventure with our visitors and create lasting memories for the community."

Excalibur will be open to the public over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, from Saturday April 28, to Monday, May 1.

People are urged to buy tickets online in advance as the venue cannot guarantee how many will be available on the gate.

Discounted rates are available for one and two-adult families, as well as seniors and carers. Anyone under the age of four can enter for free.
