A NEW set of business warehouses could be coming to a Halstead industrial estate after fresh plans were submitted.

Arcady Architects has put in proposals to build of mixed use industrial and commercial units on the Bluebridge Industrial Estate.

The estate, which is on Fourth Avenue, is already home to a number of businesses.

The yard space where the plans are for is currently used for the storage of materials and equipment associated with the operations of MDS.

The site is surrounded by Bluebridge Industrial Estate to the north, west and south.

The planning statement says the available space is “too generous” and therefore it is “proposed to improve efficiency by condensing the area and freeing up space for additional employment uses”.

The proposed use is for a mix of units, to “accommodate any prospective tenants with businesses”.

B2 use class, general industrial units, B8, distribution or storage and E, commercial, business and service, already match those on the industrial estate already.

The planning statement reads: “Each warehouse is equipped with at least one accessible toilet and tea prep area for employees, a loading bay, personnel door with ground floor windows and a fire escape to the rear.

“Each unit can be customised internally by prospective tenants to suit their business.”

The plans concluded by saying: “The intention of the development is make better use of the existing yard to provide additional employment opportunities on this established industrial estate.

“The proposal provides additional industrial/commercial units on an existing employment site where development of this use class is encouraged.

“We therefore trust that this application is met with the approval of Braintree District Council.”
