HALSTEAD town councillor Garry Warren has been putting his best foot forward in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
The charity’s ‘March for a Month’ campaign asks people to walk at least 11,000 steps a day to raise awareness and money for the charity.
Garry said: “Many of my friends and ex fire service colleagues have suffered from this awful disease so I thought I would try and help raise awareness and some funds for the charity.
“It’s important that men get themselves checked regularly as they get older.
"A simple blood test is all it takes to put your mind at rest.”
Garry was hoping to raise at least £600 for the charity and as he enters the last week of the challenge, was only £30 short of his target.
He has since not only hit but beaten his target, raising £620 in total.
“People have been extraordinarily generous,” he said.
