A POPULAR pub has re-opened after a huge revamp.

The Kings Arms, at Broad Green, near Coggeshall, has been given a new lease of life thanks to a full refurbishment by the owners, William and Caroline Sunnucks.

Mr Sunnucks said: "I’m proud to open our doors and welcome everyone back to a renewed venue."

The team has worked tirelessly over the last month to refresh the image of this pub completely, with restaurant and hotel additions.

The refurbishment designed by Nicki Parsonson of Nichola Lyn Interiors has brought a "calming elegance" to the bar and restaurant.

The pub also has seven new bedrooms with views over the open countryside and acres of the meadow behind, suitable for occasional events.

Manager Keirsten Chamberlain, who has been part of the Kings Arms for 24 years and project managed the refurbishment, said: "Everything has come together now, and the pub does have a new lease of life, fit for a King.

"We have brought on board Duncan Pearcy, previously a chef at Buckingham Palace, as a head chef who is creating delicious dishes both for lunch and evening.

"With extra parking available, we now have the potential to become a first-class destination venue."
