A RESIDENT has transformed her nursery plans to an online course after plans were rejected.

The Oak Rooms Spa was opened by Angela Andrea in January 2020, however, was forced to close in March this year after on-going Covid-struggles.

Angela had hoped to use her background in childcare and convert the house into a nursery business, however, Braintree Council refused the planning application.

She said: “It was the fact we were refused which spurred me on to doing something different, and it was my friend who helped with the idea.

“Everything we have put into the online plans would have been done here.”

Kadamey is a set of online courses which support childcare providers’ growth and nurture children's development.

Angela said: “We have an indoor and outdoor environment, and the indoor environments are similar to my own nurseries - we use very specific imagery and colours for example.

“We are all about care and wellbeing of children, eating, sleeping and feeling well, then we get them outside as much as possible.

“What children need is to be outside and connecting with true nature play, exploring, creating, all by themselves.

“It is a monthly membership, and is an investment, as you will be starting and learning something new, but we hope it will help so many people, as staff, children or parents can follow at home.”

Angela says the house remains on the market.

She said: “The future of the property is still up in the air.

“The swim school is using it at the moment, and if they can continue to grow, it will be great, but we will just have to take it as it comes.

“We are just hoping to bring what we were going to the community through the nursery in a different format.”
