A MAN has been charged with the murder of his wife and daughter after recovering from serious injuries.

Peter Nash, of Heath Estate in Great Waldingfield, has been charged with two counts of murder.

The 46-year-old is accused of murdering his 44-year-old wife Jillu Nash and their 12-year-old daughter Louise Nash.

It comes after police were called to a property on the Heath Estate last month.

Officers responded at 9.55am, on September 8 to reports of concerns for the safety of individuals at the property.

Upon entering, officers found both Jillu and Lousie Nash dead.

A Home Office post-mortem examination of Jillu Nash concluded her cause of death was pressure on the neck.

A Home Office post-mortem examination of Louise Nash determined the cause of her death to be a stab wound to the abdomen.

Mr Nash was detained at the crime scene with serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

He remained under arrest for more than five weeks while recovering.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police added: “He was transferred to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning yesterday evening, Saturday, October 15.

“Peter Nash, of Heath Estate, Great Waldingfield has subsequently been charged with two counts of murder.

“He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, October 17.”
