A HISTORIC venue has set out its upcoming autumn events as it prepares for a busy end to the year.

Hedingham Castle is set to host a plethora of events in October.

The Finn Collinson Band is up first, with a night of live music in the atmospheric Tapestry Room of the castle.

Blending old and new music to create what is described as “refreshingly innovative contemporary folk”, the band will be showcasing their 2019 critically acclaimed album, Call To Mind, alongside brand new material.

The show is on October 6, from 6.30pm to 10pm.

Following this is an autumn wreath workshop on October 16.

Visitors will spend a morning with an expert florist from Honeysuckle Flowers.

They will create a seasonal wreath to adorn their home inside or out using autumnal foliage and flowers with a sustainable moss base.

The workshop is suitable for all abilities, with all materials and equipment included, along with tea and coffee.

The workshop will run for approximately two and a half hours, beginning at 10am.

On the same day, is the Hawks and Friends event.

During the fantastic encounter, visitors can see a variety of hunting birds demonstrating their natural abilities and even have them fly to their gloved fist.

Visitors can also learn about each bird’s habitat, prey and their survival in the wild.

The castle opens at 6pm for a 6.30pm start and the event will finish at 8.30pm.

Brightworth’s School of Magic finishing off the month during the October half term.

Every day from October 23-27, Hedingham Castle will be host to budding witches and wizards who wish to enrol at Brightworth’s School of Magic.

The magical doors will open twice each day, in the morning from 10.30am to 1pm and in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Visitors will meet the Brightworth teachers to learn and take part in their specialist subjects, such as potions and enchanted animals or mystical spells.

The school is aimed at but not limited to ages three to 14.
