Drivers can expect delays with a Halstead road scheduled to shut next week.
Chapel Hill will close near its junction with Beridge Road on September 12.
The road links the town with White Ash Green.
It will be closed for three days and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
An alternative route is available via Beridge Road and Butler Road, Trinity Street and vice versa.
Chapel Hill will then be subject to further work in October with the road closing from October 10 to October 14 while resurfacing is carried out by Essex County Council.
