Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision which resulted in the death of a pensioner.

Officers with Essex Police were called to the A131 at Sudbury Road in Halstead at around 7.45pm yesterday (August 11).

It came following reports of a single-vehicle collision.

The driver, a man in his 80s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Essex Police added: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have any further information to contact us.
