A SUMMER fair was a huge hit with the community as it returned for only its second outing.
Halstead Summer Fair was back in the town’s Public Gardens on Saturday, and was hailed a big success.
The fair began in 2019 and was an immediate hit with the community.
However, due to Covid-19, no more fairs have been able to be run since then.
Linda Smith, Heather Pittuck, David Rosoman and Andy Munday organised the event, with hundreds of residents turning out.
The excitement among the community leading up to the event was strong and this was echoed during the event.
Attendees were treated to fantastic sunny weather, enjoying plenty to do on the day.
There were about 40 stalls on the day, from crafts to food and fashion, an all-day DJ, as well as shows from a pole dancing fitness group, a choir and a bagpiper.
There was also a tug of war to enjoy and the returning favourite dog show.
Lead organiser Linda Smith said: “Wow - what a wonderful day Saturday was. I hope everyone that attended enjoyed this year's summer fair as much as we did.
“There was brilliant entertainment, amazing food and a great selection of stalls.
“The day ended with the one and only dog show, so well done to all the category winners and a big well done to Loki the overall winner.
“We'd like to say thank you to Vocal Reflections, ILP Fitness, Mike Simmons, the Halstead & Essex Tug of War team and AJ Sounds.
“Thanks also so MTS Ltd for sponsoring and providing the dog show prizes, thanks Jacquie and Barry, the Bull Inn for sponsoring and providing the tug of war challenge prizes and the Co-op for sponsoring the fair.
“We look forward to seeing you all next year.”
