DRIVERS could be set to experience delays as multiple roads prepare to be closed in Halstead.

Letches Lane, Oak Road, Grange Close and Tiding Hill are set to be shut for up to 145 days.

The roads are being closed to coincide with the construction of homes by Bellway Homes on Oak Road.

The roads will shut one closure at a time, but the final closure won’t be over until October 29.

During the closures, alternative routes are available via White Horse Avenue, Three Gates Close, Oak Road and vice versa for closures one, two and three or Tidings Hill, Ronald Road, White Horse Avenue and vice versa for closure four.

A spokesman for Essex Highways said: “The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while bellmouth construction and related works are undertaken on behalf of Bellway Homes.

“Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closures.”
